What you're buying

Sesame is a marketplace, not a program, and that is the whole point of it. You are buying a care subscription called Success by Sesame — video visits, unlimited messaging, lab work and a clinician you pick yourself off a list of named providers — and then you buy the drug separately at whatever the manufacturer's cash price happens to be. Almost every other seller we cover bundles one price and hides the split; Sesame prints both halves and lets you do the arithmetic.

The medicine on offer is genuinely FDA-approved, which is rare here. Sesame's weight-loss pages carry the Wegovy pill, Wegovy injections, Ozempic, Zepbound, Mounjaro, Rybelsus and Foundayo, filled through the manufacturers' own pharmacies — LillyDirect for the Lilly products, NovoCare for the Novo Nordisk ones — or picked up same-day at a pharmacy near you. There is no compounded lane at all. Content on the medication pages is signed by named clinicians, including Dr. Manuel Carrazana and the medical director, Dr. Allison Edwards.

What it costs (and how it's billed)

The care subscription is where the fine print lives. In August 2026 the weight-loss program page advertised it "for as low as $59/mo*", with the asterisk reading "Based on a 12-month Success by Sesame commitment." The month-to-month rung is $99, and the same page states its billing two different ways within a few paragraphs: "Month-to-Month Plan: Billed every month at $99 per month" in the plan list, and "Month-to-Month Plan: Billed every 28 days" in the billing list. Twenty-eight days is thirteen charges a year, not twelve, so the honest month-to-month figure is closer to $1,291 a year than the $1,188 the headline implies. The middle rungs are a 6-month plan saving $180 every six months and a 3-month plan saving $60 every three.

Then the drug, billed by the pharmacy. The Wegovy pill runs $149 a month at 1.5 and 4 mg and $299 a month at 9 and 25 mg. Wegovy and Ozempic injections are $199 a month for the first two months at the lowest strengths for new patients, then $349 a month after, with 2 mg Ozempic at $499 a month. Zepbound is the messiest of them: the Zepbound page quotes vials at $299, $399 and $449 a month and KwikPens at $299, $399, $499 and $699, while the weight-loss program page on the same site prints a third ladder at $299, $398, $499 and $698. Both are live, and Sesame does not reconcile them.

Who can order

Sesame operates nationally and asks you to set your location before booking, then shows the providers licensed where you are. Because you are choosing an individual clinician rather than joining a program, availability is really per-provider rather than per-state, and the site does not publish a state list.

There is one geographic catch worth knowing before you sign up. Lab work is included in the subscription only when it is done at Quest Diagnostics, and the FAQ names nine places where that does not apply: Arizona, Hawaii, North Dakota, New Jersey, New York, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Dakota and Wyoming. If you live in one of those, your lab bill arrives on top of everything else, and nothing in the headline price warns you.

How the intake works

You answer a short set of questions about your weight history and goals, pick your provider from the results, and meet them on video. They take a history, order labs if they want metabolic data, and prescribe if it is appropriate. The prescription goes to your door or to a pharmacy you name, and same-day prescribing is advertised on the medication pages. After that it is unlimited messaging, follow-up visits and an app that tracks diet, exercise and sleep.

What we'd want changed

Three prices for the same Zepbound dose across two of your own pages is not a rounding error, and it lands on the single most expensive line item a patient buys. Sesame should pick one ladder and print it everywhere. The 28-day billing deserves the same treatment: a plan described as "billed every month" a few lines above "billed every 28 days" costs a customer an extra charge a year they never agreed to, and fixing it is a copy edit.

The refund terms are also stricter than the friendly marketing suggests. Cancel at least three hours before your first visit and you are refunded in full; once that visit has happened, the first month is gone. Cancellations must land 48 hours before renewal, access runs to the end of the period you paid for, and prorated refunds are not offered.

Bottom line

If you want real Wegovy, Zepbound or Ozempic rather than a compounded copy, and you want to choose the human being who prescribes it, Sesame is the most legible route we cover. Budget the two lines separately: $99 for care if you are not ready to commit to a year, plus $149 to $699 for the medicine depending on drug, form and dose. Check the Quest exclusion list for your state before you assume labs are included, and read the Zepbound price off the checkout rather than off either marketing page.
