The short version

Everything on GLP-1 Desk is published to inform you, not to treat you. It is not medical advice, and reading it does not put a clinician on your case. Before you start, stop, or change any GLP-1 medication, talk to a licensed prescriber who knows your history. In an emergency, call 911.

What this page is

A plain statement of the line between education and care — and which side we sit on.

GLP-1 Desk is an independent research desk. We read provider disclosures, drug labeling, and published science, then write it up in language a busy person can use. That work is educational. It is not the practice of medicine, and it is written for a general audience rather than for you specifically.

This is not medical advice

Nothing here diagnoses a condition, recommends a treatment, or stands in for your own clinician.

Nothing you read on this site is medical, clinical, or diagnostic advice, and nothing here is intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Our scores, comparisons, and articles are a starting point for questions to bring to a professional — not a substitute for one.

Reading us creates no clinician relationship

Using this site does not make us your doctor, pharmacist, or care team.

Visiting GLP-1 Desk, emailing us, or acting on something we published does not create a physician–patient, pharmacist–patient, or any other professional relationship between you and this site or the people who write it. We are not a pharmacy, a telehealth service, or a prescriber, and we do not provide care of any kind.

Talk to a clinician before you change anything

Any decision to begin, adjust, pause, or quit a medication belongs with a licensed professional who knows you.

Always consult a licensed healthcare professional before starting, stopping, or changing any treatment, and before acting on anything you read here. Bring your full history, current medications, allergies, and any conditions to that conversation. Never delay seeking care, or disregard advice you have already been given, because of something you read on this site.

A few GLP-1 specifics worth knowing

These drugs carry particular cautions, and compounded versions are not the same as the brands you have heard of.

Compounded GLP-1 medications are not FDA-approved finished drug products. They are prepared by pharmacies and can differ from brand-name products such as Wegovy, Ozempic, and Zepbound in formulation, strength, ingredients, and oversight. Approved and compounded products alike carry risks, side effects, and contraindications that depend on your individual situation.

Whether any GLP-1 medication is appropriate for you — and at what dose — is a clinical judgment that rests entirely with a licensed prescriber. It is not a decision this site can make, and not one you should make on the strength of our coverage alone.

Individual results vary

What worked in a study or for someone else is not a promise about you.

Outcomes, side effects, timelines, and costs differ from person to person. Any figures, ranges, or experiences we describe are general and illustrative; they are not a prediction or guarantee of what you will experience.

In an emergency

If it might be serious, do not wait on a website.

If you think you may be having a medical emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number, or go to the nearest emergency room right away. Do not rely on this site for urgent or emergency needs.

Provider mentions are not endorsements

Naming or scoring a provider is analysis, not a recommendation that you use them.

When we name, describe, or score a GLP-1 provider, we are reporting on them — not vouching for the safety, quality, or suitability of their care for you. Any information about third-party providers, products, or services is theirs to stand behind, and any dealings you have are strictly between you and them.

We work to be accurate, but can't guarantee it

Prices, coverage, and clinical details move; verify anything you plan to rely on.

We take accuracy seriously, but medicine and the telehealth market change quickly. We make no warranty that the information here is complete, current, or error-free, and details can go out of date without notice. Confirm anything important — pricing, availability, coverage, or clinical facts — directly with the provider and with your own clinician before you rely on it.
